An interval version of the sweep method [\textit{S. A. Kalmykov}, \textit{Yu. I. Shokin} and \textit{Z. Kh. Yuldashev}, Methods of interval analysis (1986; Zbl 0623.65052)] for solving linear tridiagonal interval equations is investigated. Under conditions, that are weaker than those assumed before, improved formulas for the solutions can be derived by the use of continued interval fractions.
