\textit{S. Mardešić} [Fundam. Math. 142, 241-255 (1993; Zbl 0810.54013)] described a construction which to each approximate inverse system assigns a gauged approximate inverse system consisting of the same spaces and bonding maps and having the same limit. In this paper, the author describes and discusses a simpler such construction.
