A consistent theory for normal and tangential static contact under monotonically increasing normal and oblique loading is presented in the form of a superposition of incremental flat punch solutions. The present method solves also the problem of simultaneous normal and torsional or tangential loading with complete adhesion, e.g., the solution for torsion with partial sliding is written as an integral over the normal pressure. As an example, the contact between polynomial surfaces of the form \(A_{2n}r^{2n}\) is analyzed.
