Rectangular and skew under in-plane shear loadings are considered as basic states of stress in clamped and cantilevered skew plates. With the aid of polynomials which satisfy geometric boundary conditions, the second variation of the strain energy functional is transformed into a function of unknown coefficients. Convergence analysis for plates with \(45^\circ\) skew angle reveals sufficient accuracy for polynomial degree 14. Results are shown for different skew angles, side length ratios, and slenderness rates.
