Some motions of compressible anisotropic or monotropic bodies with laminated and fibrillar structures are considered in detail. The motions are restricted by the condition of congruence, required for the reduction to a lower-dimensional analysis. For the reduction to a one-dimensional analysis, the authors study the motions of one-parameter families of laminar planes, laminar cylinders and laminar spheres which constitute the laminated bodies. For the reduction to a two-dimensional analysis, it is necessarily to investigate the motions of two-parameter families of fibrillar lines, fibrillar circles and fibrillar helices which constitute the fibrillar bodies. Finally, some special cases are considered involving homogeneity and isotropy. This is a well-written, purely theoretical paper which may be of some value to researchers in the area of laminated composites.
