Analysis of a nonlinear model of the vibrating string (Q1906302)

Nonlinear models relative to the motion of a string under the assumption that the motion is transversal are studied. Existence and uniqueness theorems are established for the Cauchy-Dirichlet problems. Numerical experiments confirm the theoretical results and indicate some interesting differences in the behaviour of the different methods discussed in the paper.
