The paper corrects an earlier study of the author dealing with the derivation of a theorem analogous to Di Perna's theorem on the existence of weak solutions for two hyperbolic conservation laws. To this end, entropy pairs bounded in the elliptic as well as in the hyperbolic region are obtained by separation of variables.
