We derive two types of solutions for a radiating Dirac source with cylindrical symmetry. We point out the peculiar features of these solutions. The first solution has the desirable feature that the exterior radiation energy density decreases as \(r\) and \(t\) increase. But the peculiar feature of this solution is that there is a discontinuity in the metric coefficients at the surface. Further, there is no radiation inside the source. The second solution, on the other hand, appears to be more physical in the sense that there is radiation both inside and outside the source. Further, there is no discontinuity in the metric coefficients at the surface. Also, the exterior radiation energy density decreases as \(r\) and \(t\) increase. But the peculiar feature of this solution is that across the surface, the interior radiation density is less than the exterior radiation density. Our solutions show that radiating Dirac sources with cylindrical symmetry call for further investigation for clarification or elimination of these peculiar features pointed.
