A steady-state, isothermal problem for hot-strip rolling with rectangular profile by absolutely rigid rolls is considered. The material is assumed to be rigid-plastic, strain-rate sensitive and slightly compressible. Siebel's type friction law for the contact surface is also assumed. A method of successive linearization (secant modulus method) and FEM are applied to solve numerically an example problem, and the numerical results are presented.
