Consider the state feedback output regulator problem for linear systems, that is, given the linear dynamics \[ \dot x= Ax+ Bu+ Pw, \qquad \dot w= Sw, \qquad e= Cx+ Qu, \] find if possible a state feedback law \(u= Fx+ Gw\) such that the \(A+ BF\) is asymptotically stable and moreover the ouput \(e(t)\) converges asymptotically to zero. The solution of the regulator is known for a long time, and in the present paper the output regulator problem is addressed under the extra input constraints \(|u|\leq 1\). A semiglobal version of the regulator problem is solved. In the same vein the error feedback regulator problem is investigated. Some generalizations of the regulator problems are also discussed.
