A new approach to the estimation of the lower and upper bound of the variance of the roundoff noise is presented. It is shown how the forward digital lattice structure (FDLS) can be applied to implementing 2-D pseudo-rotated digital filters. The 2-D roundoff noise analysis is extended to the 2-D case. It is also shown how 2-D filter banks can be derived from the FDLS.
