The author proves that his process [Pac. J. Math. 168, 217-234 (1995; Zbl 0838.57011)] of finding an essential lamination, \({\mathcal L}_0\), in Haken normal form with respect to a triangulation, given an essential lamination \({\mathcal L}\) halts after finite time in the case \(\mathcal L\) has no holonomy. In this case \({\mathcal L}_0 = {\mathcal L}\).
