The author considers the solution of a system of linear or nonlinear equations using the (parallel) generalized multisplitting asynchronous iteration. The goal of this generalization is to decrease the waiting time of processors. Conditions for convergence are formulated in a precise general theorem. Additional theorems discuss particularly linear and nonlinear cases. The results contain synchronous multisplitting iterations as a special case.
