The author states that the result of \textit{S. Meuren} and \textit{A. Herzer} [ibid. 50, No. 1-2, 124-142 (1994; Zbl 0807.51002)] remains valid if the axiom \((R)\) is replaced by the weaker ones \((R_1)\), \((R_2)\). He presents an example of a geometry where \((R_1)\), \((R_2)\) hold but \((R)\) is false.
