Recently, a group at the ICA has been established which entered the new research task covering the field of turbulent reacting low Mach number flows. The present contribution provides a comprehensive documentation of the modelling approaches and numerical simulation techniques which have been investigated so far. In the initial stage, the work is focused on single-phase turbulent combustion. The objective is to provide a computational method applicable to the general case of multi-dimensional time-dependent flows, i.e. to the calculation of the mean velocity, the mean temperature and the field representing the mean composition.
