We study the problem of equilibrium of a shallow shell under the action of an arbitrarily directed external load. We assume the geometrically nonlinear relations of the theory of mean bending, the physical relations are also assumed nonlinear. We establish sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a solution of the corresponding nonlinear boundary value problem.
