A theoretical treatment of wind erosion data (from a wind tunnel) is presented. The flux balance allows to derive a simple expression for suspended particulate concentrations. Then a tractable solution of the overall suspension/saltation problem is obtained. This solution, fitted to the available data (where the Froude number is less than 10), shows that saltation has little influence on the concentration profile.
