The authors develop a continuous version of Čech cohomology for computing the Dolbeault cohomology, as outlined by the second named author in a previous paper [Contemp. Math. 154, 103-115 (1993; Zbl 0808.55006)], and a kind of ``holomorphic Hodge theory''. Applications are given to geometric constructions of ladder representations of \(SU(2,p)\) and of nonholomorphic discrete series for \(SU(2,1)\).
