The study of perturbed (smoothed) empirical distributions has received considerable attention. Smoothing empirical distribution functions is intuitively appealing, easy to compute, provides increased second-order efficiency, and improves the speed of convergence in bootstrap. In this note we obtain the lim inf law of the iterated logarithm for Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Cramér-von Mises statistics.
