Time-periodic transport in heterogeneous porous media (Q1914637)

The authors consider the one-dimensional convection-diffusion equation in a semi-infinite heterogeneous domain for periodic boundary conditions and no initial data. Analytical solutions for the above problem have been obtained when kinematic dispersion coefficient is either a linear or an exponential function. The solutions are given is terms of Kelvin functions or hypergeometric functions. Finally, some numerical experiments are presented along with discussion and conclusions.
