A technique for designing 2-D recursive digital filters with guaranteed stability is developed. The denominator and numerator in the filter are designed separately and recursively. The denominator coefficients are found by minimizing a performance index and the numerator coefficients are determined by solving linear equations. An example illustrates the effectiveness of the technique proposed.
