The author considers a complete integral algebraic variety \(Y\) over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero and its blowing up at \(r\) general points, \(X\to Y\), and studies the secant varieties of the images of \(X\) and \(Y\) by the rational maps defined by a complete linear system on \(Y\) and its strict transform on \(X\), both subjected to different conditions of ampleness.
