The authors study and compare several diagonal axioms which can be imposed on convergence spaces. These conditions were first introduced by \textit{H.-J. Kowalsky} [Math. Nachr. 12, 301-340 (1954; Zbl 0056.41403)] and by \textit{C. H. Cook} and \textit{H. R. Fischer} [Math. Ann. 174, 1-7 (1967; Zbl 0152.39603)].
