A discrete-time adaptive control scheme with a control structure derived from the decoupling control problem is presented. It is mainly based on a special multirate sampling mechanism of the outputs of the continuous-time plant under control. The controller determination is reduced to the solution of a linear algebraic system of equations. Persistent excitation of the plant is provided without making special assumptions on the reference signal, the plant's parameters or the ARMA model.
