The aim of this work is to present a class of domain decomposition methods for the resolution of advection-diffusion equations, with particular attention to the convection dominated case. The properties of adaptive methods in the framework of a finite element discretization are investigated. The author presents the properties of the algorithms in relation to the parameters of the schemes and problems, stabilization procedures and a treatment of the cross points. The main objective of this work is to analyze the behaviour of the methods by using various examples.
