The authors construct bivariate continuous Malvar wavelets defined on a hexagon \(A\) which form an orthonormal basis of \(L^2(A)\). They use local bases defined on the three rhombuses of \(A\) and apply a method similar to that of the authors [Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 2, No. 3, 243-256 (1995; Zbl 0844.42016)]. The generalization to many hexagons is straightforward.
