In previous papers, the authors have developed the concept of multistep quasi-Newton methods for the unconstrained optimization problem \[ \min f(x),\;x\in \mathbb{R}^n. \] In the given paper, the authors consider the issue of how to incorporate function value information within this multistep methods. Numerical experiments are given.
