The problem of definability of jump classes \(L_n\) and \(H_n\), \(n\in \mathbb{N}\), in the recursively enumerable degrees \({\mathbf R}\) is studied. Earlier, Nies, Shore and Slaman solved this problem for \(n\geq 3\). The author proves that the property of not bounding the base of a so-called Slaman triple cannot define any jump class.
