By the method of integral equations the author proves the unique solvability of the Tricomi problem for the equation \(u_{xx}+yu_{yy}+\alpha u_y=0\), \((\alpha\leq-1/2)\) in the domain bounded by \(\{x=0,y\geq 0\}\) and the characteristic \(x-2\sqrt{-y}=0\).
