Despite the large number of studies that have been made of nonsteady internal problems of hydroelasticity, the nature of the pressure that develops on the walls of a cylindrical cavity under the influence of travelling spherical waves has yet to be established. Here we employ an expansion into a Fourier series in an angle, the Laplace transform and the Fourier cos-transform in the longitudinal coordinate to determine the pressure. Inversion of the Laplace transform reduces to the numerical solution of Volterra integral equation, while analytical means are used for inversion of the Fourier transform.
