We discuss the new concept of a recursive topological space which generalizes constructive analysis and the theory of recursive metric spaces. The purpose of our undertaking is to offer a tool for studying recursion on topological groups, algebras, and models of general form with nonmetrizable topologies. It is interesting to observe that the new concept formally generalizes the constructive domains by Yu. L. Ershov and D. Scott, respectively.
