This paper contains constrained exact local controllability results for nonlinear abstract differential equations. A generalization of the open mapping theorem is used for the sufficient conditions to guarantee controllability. The values of controls are in a convex, closed cone with vertex at 0. Details are given for the example of a nonlinear autonomous retarded functional differential equation.
