A rational interpolation problem plays a crucial role in obtaining the proper, linear systems theory based plant or process description from given/measured data. One of the solutions to this problem is based on the linear fraction representation using the so-called generating matrix as a main tool. In this paper, a new approach of computing a particular \(2\times2\) polynomial generating matrix is provided. It is based on the deep connection between Loewner and Hankel matrices.
