The numerical solution of a hyperbolic system of conservation laws is discussed. The authors propose to use an entropy diminishing criterion instead of the total variation diminishing criterion for scalar equations. Based on this criterion they derive entropy diminishing projections that ensure second order of accuracy and all the classical discrete entropy inequalities. Strong convergence is proved for systems of two equations.
