Using an existence result of the variational inequality problem presented in this paper, we obtain several existence results for the nonlinear complementarity problem. These results extend the corresponding ones of \textit{G. Isac} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 108, 563-574 (1985)] and \textit{M. Théra} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 154, 572-586 (1991; Zbl 0728.90088)].
