Let \(A\) be a local noetherian ring with maximal ideal \(m\) and \(\text{gr}(A)= \bigoplus_{i\geq 0}m^i/m^{i+1}\) the associated graded ring. In this paper, the author shows the following: If \(\text{Spec} (A)\) has embedded components then \(\text{Spec(gr} (A))\) has embedded components, too.
