In the context of bifurcation theory for discontinuous systems, the paper studies the bifurcation of a periodic sliding solution from a sliding periodic solution of the unperturbed equation. To this aim, a sliding Poincaré-Andronov-Melnikov function is derived. The method implies no restriction on the dimension of spatial variables and parameters. An illustrative example of such bifurcation in a three-dimensional piecewise linear discontinuous problem is presented.
