Let \(M\) be an \(n\)-dimensional space-like linear Weingarten submanifold in a de Sitter space \(S^{n+p}_p(1)\) with \(R = aH + b\), where \(R\) and \(H\) are the normalized scalar curvature and the length of the mean curvature vector respectively. In this paper, assuming that the normalised mean curvature vector is parallel, the authors give intrinsic (in terms of sectional curvature) and extrinsic (in terms of square of the norm of the second fundamental form) conditions for \(M\) to be totally umbilical.
