Continuing his research [Math. Res. Lett. 12, No. 5--6, 897--910 (2005; Zbl 1086.32030)] on normal forms, the author takes up in this paper the question about their convergence in the case of finite type hypersurfaces in \(\mathbb C^2\). He produces two families of examples, showing that the divergence phenomenon cannot be avoided, even by a modification of the normal form construction.
