The author presents a new criterion for the spectral finiteness of a finite subset of the space of all \(d\times d\) real matrices where \(2\leq d<\infty \). From this, the author obtains some checkable sufficient conditions for the spectral finiteness. The author also improves the main theorem in the paper of \textit{V. S. Kozyakin} [Autom. Remote Control 68, No. 1, 174--209 (2007); translation from Avtom. Telemekh. 2007, No. 1, 327--363 (2007; Zbl 1195.93082)].
