The authors prove a classification theorem for self-shrinkers of the mean curvature flow with second fundamental form \(A\) satisfying \(|A|^2\leq 1\) in arbitrary codimensions. As a consequence a gap theorem for self-shrinkers in arbitrary codimensions is given.
