The present expository paper describes the results obtained by the author and his collaborators regarding families of symmetric and doubly-symmetric solutions in reversible (particularly Hamiltonian) systems with several independent first integrals. More precisely, these results allow to set up a framework for the study of continuation and bifurcation of families of doubly-symmetric solutions.
