The interest of the authors lies in proving rigorous convergence rates for the homogenization limit (the so-called ``corrector estimates''). It turns out that for the discussed conductive-radiative problem second order correctors are needed to control oscillating temperature gradients in a local fashion. Note that here the radiative effect is described by means of a non-local boundary condition, a fact which introduces an essential non-standard feature in this framework.
