Coupling conditions for the \(3 \times 3\) Euler system (Q1943836)

In this article the authors consider the 1D-compressible isentropic Euler system describing the flow of a fluid through a pipe, when a sharp discontinuous change in the pipe's section appears. A coupling condition \(\Psi\) is imposed at the discontinuity. Under suitable condition on \(\Psi\), the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem is proved. Moreover extension to the case of a pipe with piecewise constant section is analyzed.
