This short note is a well-readable methodological discussion of basic notions of probability theory. After a short historical overview, especially de Finetti's view on personal probability helps to discuss Suppes' approach on probabilistic causality (see [\textit{P. Suppes}, A probabilistic theory of causality. Amsterdam: North Holland (1970)]).
