On an asymptotic analysis of polynomial approximation to halfband filters (Q1949304)

The authors study the asymptotic properties of polynomial filters which approximate the ideal filter. In particular, the error between a polynomial filter and an ideal filter is estimated, and it is proved that the error decays exponentially fast. Moreover, for polynomial halfband filters it is shown that the \(n\)th root asymptotic error estimates are sharp.
