A new class of Zienkiewicz-type non-conforming finite elements is presented, applied to fourth-order partial differential equation. This element is a non-conforming \( C^{0} \) element and it is constructed in a canonical fashion for two and higher dimensions. Some detailed description of a new Zienkiewicz-type non-conforming finite element are presented. For the biharmonic problem the order of convergence is proved by comparison to a suitable modified Hermite triangular finite element. Some computational aspects are discussed and numerical examples are given.
