Ring plate on a transversely isotropic elastic half-space (Q1960773)

The elastic frictionless interaction of an axisymmetrically loaded ring plate with a transversely isotropic homogeneous and multilayered half-space respectively is studied under the assumption of a complete contact of the individual layers. The stiffness matrix of the ring plate is obtained approximately using finite ring elements, and the stiffness matrix of the halfspace is evaluated analytically using Hankel transforms. In this way, the authors obtain an effective procedure with a relatively low computation time in comparison to the complete finite element method. Numerically worked out examples are presented for contact pressure, bending moments and displacements of the plate.
