Solving a long standing conjecture, \textit{N. Nadirashvili} [Invent. Math. 126, 457-465 (1996; Zbl 0881.53053)], constructed complete minimal surfaces of nowhere vanishing curvature which are immersed in a ball of \(\mathbb{R}^3\). It is the aim of the authors to review Nadirashvili's proof and to correct and supplement some details.
