The authors consider the non-overlapping domain decomposition (DD) method for the coupling of finite element (FE) and boundary element (BE) method in order to solve 2D potential problems. They built up a highly parallel efficient and robust adaptive DD preprocessor, which realizes an automatic decomposition of the computational domain into \(p\) subdomains, where \(p\) is the number of processors to be used. Some numerical experiments confirm the performances of the preprocessor.
